Lady Eleanor entrelac madness

For a long time I've been admiring the pictures of the Lady Eleanor stole in SCARF STYLE, and then all of a sudden it hit me and ... I started two!!

The one on top is being knitted with Noro Silk Garden in shade 217. After I realised that entrelac was not as complicated, I just had to grab a skein of Rowan Tapestry (Shade 173 here) and give it a go. The thinner needles make for less growth per hour, but the gentle change of colours is a relaxing knit for the eyes, especially at nighttime. I am planning to give the Rowan stole to my other half's mum...her birthday is in January, and depending how soon I finish it will be a Christmas or birthday present :)

I am a bit worried by my obsession for the entrelac technique...yesterday, while stirring Quorn in the wok, my mind was playing with the idea of starting another project with Noro Kureyon... a bag to felt in entrelac!?!...help!

I was thinking about tapestry for entrelac before I found that french stuff - there's a neat entrelac-looking hat pattern I found (I think free on Interweave) which I thought about doing with it too.

Alice, you thinking of the Short-Row Hat probably? I agree that the colour variations are very tapestry-esques, although I would prefer smaller squares on that hat.

Wow! My jaw, if it could hit the floor, would now be there. Those are beautiful! The Rowan Tapestry is breathtaking. Those colours are amazing. I think I need to invest in that!

Thank you canarysanctuary :) I agree, Tapestry is lovely for entrelac, and the colour changes are so soft, it makes the project less of a "in-your-face" shawl (although I am in love with the drastic colour changes of the Noro yarns just the same!).

Hey, you're making a Lady E in the same colorway I did! Yours looks great! I also really like the one you are making in Tapestry. The subtle color changes are nice.

My only word of advice about the Lady E would be don't do long fringe (like I did). It just gets in the way too much.

Hi Persnickety Knitter, thanks for the compliment and the advice :)
I found out that it was the same colourway only when I had already started knitting, as originally I wanted to do bags with the Silk Garden (I only had 5 skeins at that time).
I am certainly worried about having a too long fringe, as I would like to wear it also when travelling... still two skeins to go and time to think what to do ;-)
