Finally, buttons found, approved of, sewn on and ...voila'!
After much thought, I opted for non-green buttons. These, which I found at John Lewis, were just right - and they were reduced in price as well!
Shame about the quality of the picture...the yarn is a nice green, but my camera seems to have an adversion to green. I might try and take a picture of the jacket outdoors, but in order to do that I must wait for this strong wind that is visiting Nottingham to stop.

Another great jacket! The green looks nice on my screen, though :)
That is very nice ...
Thank you all :) it has been a fun project and the bunnies did not disapprove, as it went fast and did not take too much of my time!
It's gorgeous, I love the sort of flecked yarn, do you have mannequin living in house for modeling purposes?
Oh my goodness! You're so furry talented with the needles - hey, how come you're not modelling it?
Diana & Sam's mistress: yes...the mannequin is my housemate, or actually she lives in the guests' room, now temporarily called "chaos room" for lack of guests ;-) It makes the job of taking pics of my knitwear easier, because taking a picture with the garnment on me is not very easy if you don't have a large mirror... (or Mr. D nearby to take a picture of me).
WOW - that's amazing - it's lovely.
That looks perfect! I want one!
